The biggest moment in a game featuring the best up-and-comers in the New York Penn League belonged to the Scrappers’ Erlin Cerda.

The Dominican launched a three-run home run off Hudson Valley’s Joe Serrapica in the fourth inning to give the South All-Stars a lead they wouldn’t relinquish. South won 9-5.

Cerda is hitting .265, has four home runs this season and is seventh in the league with 29 RBIs.

Other Scrappers had mixed results in their All-Star appearances.

Gabriel Mejia went hitless in three at bats with a strikeout while Todd Isaacs went without a hit in three at bats as well but scored a run.

Andrew Calica got an RBI single in his lone at bat and on the mound Tanner Tully pitched one inning of scoreless ball, allowing one hit in the outing.

Juan Hillman was the other Mahoning Valley All-Star, but he didn’t see any playing time.

The North took a three-run lead in the first inning but that was all negated by four-run fourth and sixth innings by the South.

Harol Gonzalez of the Brooklyn Cyclones picked up the win in relief while Serrapica took the loss thanks to Cerda’s game-changing shot.
