THURSDAY

Smith Corners United Methodist Church, 3000 S. Canfield-Niles Road, Austintown, will serve Supper at the Corner from 4:30 to 6 p.m. Donations will be accepted to continue the program.

Woodworth Church of the Brethren, 30 E. Western Reserve Road, Boardman, will serve takeout only dinners of beef tips and noodles from 2:30 to 6 p.m., or until sold out. The meal comprises Angus sirloin beef tips, noodles, corn, roll with butter and a cookie for $8. Drive to back door, place your order and it will be brought to your car. FRIDAY

Holy Trinity Serbian Orthodox Church, 53 Laird Ave., Youngstown, will serve fish dinners from 3:30 to 7 p.m. at the church hall. The menu will consist of baked or fried Icelandic cod or fried haddock; sides of Spanish rice, haluski, macaroni and cheese, french fries or string beans (choose two); coleslaw or applesauce; bread and butter; and coffee or tea. The cost is $11 for adults and $6 for children. Dessert will be an additional $1.75. Containers will be provided for takeouts. Orders will be accepted from 11 a.m. to 6 p.m. at 330-792-1005.

SATURDAY

Coalburg United Methodist Church, 1906 Wick Campbell Road, Hubbard, will host a pulled-pork dinner from 4 to 7 p.m. The menu includes creamy potatoes, baked beans, coleslaw, buns, beverage and dessert for $8 for adults and $4 for a child’s portion. Takeouts and baked goods will be available.

Cy-Me Men’s Club of Our Lady of Sorrows Parish will sponsor its annual corn roast at 6 p.m. in the social hall of Sts. Cyril and Methodius Church, 252 E. Wood St. Doors will open at 5:30 p.m.; there is elevator access via the entry on the ramp between the church and rectory. The meal will include all-you-can-eat fresh-picked corn on the cob, half of a baked chicken, tomato/cucumber salad, haluski, watermelon and cake. Cost is $12. Tickets will be sold after Sunday Masses at the three churches of the parish, Holy Name of Jesus Church, 613 N. Lakeview Ave.; St. Matthias Church, 915 Cornell St.; or Sts. Cyril and Methodius. Tickets also are available by calling Tom Rovnak at 330-782-5287 or Bert Wagner at 330-747-3777. No tickets will be sold at the door. All are welcome.

SUNDAY

Richard Brown Memorial United Methodist Church, 1205 Elm St. (across from Wick Park) will host a spaghetti dinner to raise funds in support of Nonviolence Week events (Oct. 2-8) The dinner is planned from 11:30 a.m. to 4 p.m. and the cost for adults is $8 and children under 12, $5. Nonviolence Week activities are sponsored by Mahoning Valley Sojourn to the Past, Youngstown Area Jewish Federation, Youngstown City Schools, City of Youngstown, Community Initiative to Reduce Violence and Youngstown State University offices of Student Diversity Programs and Africana Studies.

VFW Triangle Post 2799, 3161 E. South Range Road, New Springfield, will serve homestyle breakfasts from 8 a.m. to noon sponsored by the auxiliary. The cost is $6 for adults and $3.50 for children 12 and under. Menu items are eggs, hash browns, sausage or ham, pancakes or freedom toast, toast and coffee or tea.

UPCOMING

Calvary Baptist Church, 1463 Shields Road, will host a spaghetti and meatball dinner from 4 to 7 p.m. Aug. 27. Takeout will be available. The menu includes Italian bread, salad, homemade desserts and beverages. Adult meals are $8 and $3 for children.

Christ the Good Shepherd Parish, Society of St. Lucy, is sponsoring a homemade spaghetti dinner from noon to 4 p.m. Sept. 25 at the Palermo Banquet Center, 404 Tenney Ave., Campbell. Save the date. Takeout will be available. All are welcome. For information call Carmel Opencar at 330-755-2828.
