Closed housing sales down in Valley

Completed sales of homes were down in all three counties that make up the Mahoning Valley last month.

Closed sales in Mahoning County during July dropped 18.3 percent from 311 reported in July 2015 to 254 in July 2016, according to the Youngstown/Columbiana Association of Realtors.

Pending sales in the county were up 10.1 percent during the month.

The county’s average sales price went up 5.3 percent year over year to $119,464.

New listings declined by 25.3 percent, and the inventory of homes for sale dropped 25.5 percent.

Columbiana County saw a 15.6 percent decrease in closed sales year over year from 90 in July 2015 to 76 in July 2016.

Pending sales in the county increased 46.8 percent.

The average sales price in the county dropped by 10.2 percent to $103,763.

New listings in the county dropped 9.6 percent, and the inventory of homes declined 25.9 percent.

In Trumbull County, closed sales were down by 4.5 percent to 191 from 200 reported in July 2015, according to the Warren Area Board of Realtors.

Pending sales were up 20.7 percent from 179 reported in July 2015 to 216 reported in July 2016.

The average sales price in the county went up 0.2 percent to $104,989.

New listings dropped 13.8 percent year over year, and the inventory of homes for sale dropped by 14.6 percent.
