PRESIDENTIAL RACE | Trump agriculture committee includes Nebraska Republicans
LINCOLN, Neb. (AP) — Several Nebraska Republicans have agreed to serve on a new agricultural advisory committee for GOP presidential hopeful Donald Trump, and one will serve as its chairman.
The Trump campaign released a membership list today that includes Gov. Pete Ricketts, former Gov. Dave Heineman and state Sen. Beau McCoy of Omaha.
Falls City businessman Charles Herbster will serve as the committee's national chairman. Herbster laid the groundwork to run for Nebraska governor in 2014 but announced that he would not enter the race because his wife was recuperating from heart surgery. Herbster threw his support behind McCoy's candidacy for governor, including $2.2 million in contributions.
Ricketts and Heineman endorsed Trump in May.
