Free book bag giveaway is Saturday in Girard

GIRARD — The Lena Mason Christian Memorial Foundation will host the annual free Family Fun Day and book bag giveaway from 1 to 4 p.m. Saturday at Tod Park, 270 Park Ave.

The event will include hot dogs, face painting, clowns, crafts and more.

Last year, the foundation was able to give away about 400 book bags filled with school supplies. This day is open to all families, whether or not they are in need of a book bag.

Participants in need of a book bag and school supplies are asked to sign up starting at 12:30 p.m. to receive a number. Book bags will be given out after 3 p.m. The event will take place rain or shine.
