Ringling circus returns to Covelli

Ringling Bros. and Barnum & Bailey Circus will bring its new show, “Circus Xtreme,” to Covelli Centre for six shows Nov. 19-20
Performances will be at 11 a.m., 3 p.m. and 7 p.m. both days.
Tickets are $16, $21, $37 and $52 and go on sale at 10 a.m. Aug. 23 at ticketmaster.com, by phone at 800-745-3000 and at the Covelli box office.
Salem theater alumni in revue
SALEM
Salem Community Theatre, 490 E. State St., will host its annual alumni benefit revue, “An Award-Winning Revue: Tony Approved,” Friday at 7:30 p.m. The revue is the fourth in a series of performances by actors who grew up in the youth theatre program at SCT. It is being produced and directed by Abby Cull, Nicole Slaven and Donny Wolford.
The cabaret-style performance will include excerpts of Tony Award winning musicals. In addition to Slaven, Cull and Wolford, the cast includes Bethany Kholos, Bret Cowden and Anthony Ventura. Tickets are $10 (free for youths 17 and under with adult). For reservations, call 330-332-9688.

The Youngstown Independent Comic Expo will have a meeting at 5 p.m. Wednesday at Newport Library, 3730 Market St., for independent comic-book creators in the area. Artists and writers can talk about what they are working on. There will also be information on the second annual expo, Sept. 10 at the Hampton Inn in Canfield.
