Stand-up comedy event for 'Man Up' program

Mercy Health Foundation Mahoning Valley will host a “Stand Up for Man Up” event to benefit the Man Up Mahoning Valley program at Mercy Health in Youngstown from 6 to 10 p.m. Sept. 10 at the Tyler History Center, 325 W. Federal St.

The event will include comedy, a live auction, food and music for $75 per couple. Single tickets also are available.

The Man Up program educates men on the importance of discussing annual prostate examinations with their doctor. Prostate cancer ranks as the most common non-skin cancer among men. One hundred percent of funds collected by Man Up are used to provide free screenings for vulnerable Valley men who may not have access to these examinations, as well as providing education and outreach.
