Indians fall to Red Sox
CLEVELAND (AP) — Josh Tomlin again struggled to keep the ball in the ballpark.
David Ortiz hit a two-run homer and Jackie Bradley Jr. added a solo shot in the sixth inning Monday, rallying the Boston Red Sox over the Cleveland Indians 3-2.
Tomlin (11-6) has allowed a major league-leading 29 home runs.
“I’m not going to walk guys, I’m going to challenge them, but I’m trying to avoid the crooked numbers (on the scoreboard) as much as I can,” Tomlin said. “That hasn’t really happened lately. I have to limit the traffic on the bases in order to limit the damage for myself and my team.”
