YMCA will mark 150 years in 2017

NEW CASTLE, PA.

In 2017, the YMCA will mark 150 years of service to the New Castle community. The nonprofit organization plans to commemorate its anniversary with a booklet and video.

Organizers are asking anyone with stories, pictures, scrapbooks, memorabilia or artifacts to share them with the Y to help celebrate its story.

In addition to stories of the YMCA, the Y is hoping for photos and stories of the New Castle YWCA and the YMCA that served the African-American community. They merged and became today’s YMCA.
