WARREN

Pastor Cicero Battee will mark his pastoral anniversary during programs at Seventh Day Adventist Church, 1645 North Road.

He has served for 30 years as pastor at Bethesda Church of the Living God in Warren.

Programs are planned at 7 p.m. Thursday with guests: Pastors Claude and Serina Brooks of Holy Spirit Church of the Living God International in Akron and Pastor Derrick Moore of Chose Generation CLGI in Pittsburgh and 7 p.m. Friday with Bishop David L. Herron Sr. of Monument of Faith Church of God in Christ, Pastor Austin Shaw of Community COGIC and Pastor Loretta J. Pernice of Elim Christian Center.

A service is scheduled at 10 a.m. Aug. 21 with Bishop Joseph White, presiding bishop of CLGI, and guest church Bethseda CLGI of Columbus.

Special service

YOUNGSTOWN

Faith Fellowship Church of God, 388 E. Midlothian Blvd., will mark a special service at 10:45 a.m. Sunday.

The church building that formerly housed the Bethel Lutheran Church was bought by Faith Fellowship in early 2015 and had a one-year mortgage note. That note was paid in full in early March this year. At the service, the church will burn that mortgage note.

Faith Fellowship was first organized in 1925 as a church in Struthers and over the past 40 years has had only three pastors.

Claudine Bridges will provide the pre-worship music on the pipe organ; Phyllis Vivod will provide the worship music of Gospel songs on the keyboard. Pastor Jonathan Mitchell will preside.

After worship, there will be a potluck dinner in fellowship hall.

Ministries chapter

Dr. Pete Wasko of New Wilmington, Pa., will be guest speaker when Youngstown Chapter of Igniting New Life Ministries, an interdenominational ministry, meets Monday at Elton Beard Cabin by the children’s playground in Boardman Park, 375 Boardman-Poland Road.

Fellowship will begin at 6:30 p.m. with ministry at 7.

Wasko, a retired chiropractor, is with Acquire the Edge Ministries. After experiencing in Vietnam, drugs, alcohol and a mental institution admission, he became a doctor, an inspirational speaker and author.
