Woman kicks paramedic during arrest for OVI

YOUNGSTOWN — A woman who told police Thursday she drank five bottles of wine and smoked crack before being found in a car at Zedaker Street and East Philadelphia Avenue on the South Side also kicked a paramedic, reports said.

Kathy Ludt, 47, of South Avenue, was booked into the Mahoning County jail on charges of operating a vehicle impaired, driving under suspension and obstructing official business.

Reports said police were called about 3:35 p.m. for reports of a woman in a car yelling at people and found Ludt. Reports said she appeared very drunk, had a hard time standing and battled with a paramedic when they tried to place her on a gurney so she could be taken to St. Elizabeth Youngstown Hospital for treatment.

Ludt was taken to the jail after she was examined at the hospital.
