POLICE CALLS

A summary of police activity in the city of Canfield and Austintown:

CANFIELD

Aug. 1

Drug trafficking: Police arrested Azisa Johnson, 22, of Rochester, N.Y., on charges of trafficking in marijuana and drug paraphernalia, and Preston Weatherspoon, 24, of Hilton, N.Y., on a charge possession of drug paraphernalia.

Aug. 2

Theft: Police arrested Joshua Kosa, 33, of Bailey Road, North Jackson, on a charge of theft at Giant Eagle, 525 E. Main St.

Warrant: Police arrested Alvin Flick, 34, of Lisbon Street, Canfield on warrant for failure to appear on a Youngstown Municipal Court.

Telecommunications harassment: Police investigated a complaint of telecommunications harassment via unwanted phone calls at a home in the 200 block of Sawmill Run Drive. The suspect’s phone number was unidentified.

AUSTINTOWN

Aug. 1

Drug offense: Police arrested Steven Lowrey, 34, of Glenwood Avenue, Youngstown, on charges of drug abuse of heroin and possession of drug-abuse instruments.

Lost or stolen property: A wallet was reported lost or stolen at Walmart, 6001 Mahoning Ave.

Theft: A stolen bank card was reported at a home in the 4000 block of Woodhurst Drive.

Warrant: Police arrested Stephen Medved, 47, of Staatz Drive, on a warrant for failure to appear on a traffic charge.

Lost or stolen property: A purse was reported missing at from a home in the 200 block of South Yorkshire Boulevard.

Aug. 2

Theft: An employee is a suspect in theft at Giant Eagle, 5220 Mahoning Ave.

Theft: Tarps were reported missing at Fyda Freightliner Youngstown Inc., 5260 Seventy-Six Drive.

Theft: A money order from the United Parcel Service store was reported stolen at the U.S. Post Office, 6000 Mahoning Ave.

Theft: A front license plate was stolen from an auto owned by a New Road resident in Youngstown or Columbus areas.

Aug. 3

Theft: Anthony Green, 28, of Outlook Avenue, Youngstown, was charged with grand theft from Get Go, 5163 Mahoning Ave., where he was an employee. He is accused of taking money by ringing up merchandise and then going back and voiding the sale and pocketing cash in the amount between $1,000 and $5,250.98 over a period of time during his work shifts.

Theft: A theft was reported at an apartment in the 10 block of South Edgehill Avenue.

Theft: A representative of Ohio Restoration LLC, 557 S. Meridian Road, Youngstown, is accused of theft of service from a home in the 3000 block of Almerinda Drive.

Theft: Medication and money were stolen from an auto parked at a home in the 3000 block of Eigen Street.

Warrant: Police arrested Allaura Massrock, 30, of Kirk Road on a warrant for drug abuse of heroin, assault, possession of drug paraphernalia, drug-abuse instruments and a syringe to administer dangerous drugs.

Theft: A roofing company was accused of nonperformance at a home in the 400 block of Burkey Road.

Assault: Two victims were assaulted at a home in the 600 block of Carlin Boulevard.

Robbery: A male was possibly robbed of money, a cellphone and sandals at Talmer Bank, 3516 S. Meridian Road.

Aug. 4

Theft: A representative of Ohio Restoration Group is accused of theft from a home in the 4000 block of Timberbrook Drive.

Burglary: A door was unlocked and a home was burglarized in the 1000 block of Fountain Square.

Theft: A wallet was stolen at Rulli Bros., 4331 Kirk Road.

Theft: Steaks were stolen from Giant Eagle.

Theft: Money and pills were reported stolen from a home in the 4000 block of Westmont Drive.

Theft: A cellphone was stolen at R&J Auto Sales, 4443 New Road.

Warrant: Police arrested Kierstyn Andersen, 25, of Lexington Place on a warrant for theft.

Warrant: Police arrested Scott Campbell, 25, of Oak Trace on a warrant for failure to appear on a dog-license violation and was also charged with drug abuse of marijuana.

Aug. 5

Assault: An alcoholic drink was thrown into a woman’s eyes at Bill’s Place, 4771 Mahoning Ave.

Theft: Police issued a summons to Andrew Stigor, 28, of South Raccoon Road on a theft charge. Police said he was observed on surveillance footage leaving Walmart with food and beverages several times since May 30 without paying for the items.

Aug. 5

Fraud: Unauthorized transactions were reported at a home in the 4000 block of Pembrook Road.

Aug. 6

Warrant: Police arrested Adrian Kimbrough, 19, of Columbus on a 2015 warrant for failure to appear in court on a traffic charge.

Theft: A vehicle was entered, and an Ohio license, debit card and other items were taken at a home in the 5000 block of Madrid Drive.

Theft: Gasoline was taken from vehicles at Inner Circle Pizza, 4520 Mahoning Ave.

Drug offense: Police issued a summons to Peter Nemes, 25, of Russo Drive on charges of drug possession and possession of drug paraphernalia.

Aug. 7

Warrant: Police arrested Asante’ Yawna Hamlett, 19, of Pembrook Road, on a warrant for failure to appear on a traffic charge, and Daivahn Brown,20, of Mill Creek Boulevard, Boardman, on a charge of falsification.

Drug offense: Police issued a summons to Kane Sanders, 20, of Depot Street, Niles, on charges of drug abuse of marijuana and possession of marijuana paraphernalia.

Assault: Police arrested Bradley Ronci, 31, of Eigen Street on charges of assault, obstructing official business, possession of drug paraphernalia and possession of Alprazolam, a prescription medicine to treat anxiety disorders.
