Poland boy to play at Cooperstown
Zach Hryb was chosen in May of this year and has been added to the Core Athletic Bombers roster out of Tarentum Pennsylvania and will be representing them in Cooperstown, N.Y., at the end of August. His team, the Core Athletic Bombers, will start pool play on Aug. 13 and will look to advance through the week.
The tournament invites 104 teams representing the elite 12U players from around the world to compete against each other. Hryb will be honored at the Hall Of Fame in Cooperstown during this week as his team and his name will be added to the wall of players that played in this prestigious tournament. He will also be presented with a ring at the end of the tournament that represents the event, as well.
Hryb started his baseball career with the local youth organization in Poland but quickly rose through the ranks and started traveling on teams at the age of 9-years-old. Since then, he has traveled across many different states throughout the past three years, playing against top athletes and great competition. He has compiled staggering numbers with a career batting average of 550 and an on-base percentage of 600. His primary position is second base, but he has also excelled at short stop and centerfield when needed on his teams.
Additionally, Hryb focuses on academics and has been named to the BETA club, which honors students for their outstanding work in the classroom and is a proud member of Holy Family Church where he is an altar server. He was born and raised in Poland, to parents Ron and Maria, and attends Holy Family School. He will be entering seventh-grade this upcoming year.
