Several guests attended the Austintown library on July 18 to learn how to make no bake energy bites.
Austintown librarian Lindsay Platt supplied an instruction list and the ingredients for guests to make their own no bake energy bites to take home. The energy bites used honey, peanut butter, oatmeal, chocolate chips, vanilla extract and ground flax seeds. All the of items were products anyone could buy at the store to make their own energy bites at home.
All the ingredients got mixed together in a bowl and then molded into little balls. Once the energy bites were molded, they had to be chilled for 30 minutes to become firm and then they were ready to eat.
Platt printed out instructions for the guests to take with them for future reference if they wanted to make them again. The ingredient list is flexible if there is an ingredient someone doesn’t like or is allergic to. Several things could be substituted in and out of the recipe.
The no bake energy bites provided a quick and easy way to make a snack for anyone to enjoy.
