Cars and Coffee Car Show takes place at Canfield library

Valley said his son restored the car, which he bought at the Canfield Swap Meet for $400.

High Octane Coffee Company and the Friends of Public Library of Youngstown and Mahoning County partnered to present a Cars and Coffee Car Show in the parking lot of the Canfield library on July 10.
The event was open to cars, trucks and motorcycles, with proceeds benefiting the Friends of Public Library of Youngstown and Mahoning County.
“The money raised here today will go to support children’s library programs, which is so important. We are excited to have great children’s programs in our libraries,” said Deborah Liptak, Development Director of the Mahoning County Library System.
With approximately 25 participants, awards, such as High Octane T-shirts and gift certificates, were given out by anonymous judges.
Liptak said the library hopes to build on the car show’s success.
“This is the first time we have done this and we hope to do more, especially with High Octane Coffee Company. We hope to build on today’s success for future events. This is something new, a car show on a Sunday morning. It‘s a positive thing and a great place to hang out,” Liptak said.
The High Octane Coffee Company, with a branch inside the Canfield library, offered their fresh by the cup coffees at the event. High Octane Coffee Company, owned by Joe Sylvester and Jen Rodway, uses a motor sports theme to name their coffee drinks, such as the Super Charger and the Flat Tire. They also offer teas and hot chocolate.
