3 guns found, five charged, during vice raid

Police found three guns and charged five people while serving a search warrant Wednesday and investigating drug activity on Saranac Avenue.
Reports said officers from the vice squad were serving the warrant about 5:15 p.m. When they arrived they pulled over a car driven by Donna McCain, 47, of Salem, that was leaving the house Inside her purse, officers found a crack pipe, a spoon and a needle, reports said. She was issued citations for possession of drug abuse instruments and possession of drug paraphernalia and given a court date.
At the home, reports said Raymon Autry, 19, of Bryson Street, threw a bag of suspected crack cocaine and two doses of heroin on the ground when police arrived. After he was cuffed, police found $795 in cash in his pockets.
Another man in the drive, DeQuan Henderson, 18, of Kensington Avenue, had a 9 mm Luger handgun on him when he was searched, and a third man in the drive, Andrew Williams, 19, of Redondo Road, had a bag of suspected heroin on him.
A loaded revolver was found in an SUV where a 14-year-old boy was sitting, reports said. The revolver was underneath the seat where the boy was sitting.
The boy was taken to the Martin P. Joyce Juvenile Justice Center on weapons charges. Reports said Henderson, Williams and Autry were taken to the Mahoning County jail on drug and weapons charges.
They are expected to be arraigned in municipal court today.
According to Vindicator files, the three guns found Wednesday give the police 93 seized for the year, including 10 within the last week.
