Golf tournament will benefit Alchemy Acres
SPECIAL TO THE VINDICATOR Alchemy Acres Animal Sanctuary will host its annual Gavin Ward Memorial Golf Tournament on Aug. 20 at Olde Dutch Mill Golf Course, 2745 Grandview Road, Lake Milton. Registration for the four person scramble will be $65 per person and includes a golf cart, beverages, breakfast, lunch and dinner. Teams that register and pay by Saturday will receive a dozen golf balls. Prizes will be given on each hole, with a two-year lease for a Chevy Cruze as the grand prize for a hole-in-one on the eighth hole. The Cruze is donated by Sweeney Chevrolet, who also will donate $5,000 to Alchemy Acres, if there is a winner. First place team will win $300; second place, $200; and third place, $100. The tournament is named for Gavin Ward, a volunteer of Alchemy Acres who died at age 12.
