Oakland postpones ‘Tuesdays with Morrie’

YOUNGSTOWN

The newly-revived Oakland Center for the Arts has canceled its initial production, “Tuesdays with Morrie,” due to health problems affecting the show’s lead actor, Victor Garcia. The production will be resecheduled, said Brendan Byers of the theater company.

The Oakland’s Kids First Theatre Initiative has scheduled auditions for “Disney’s Alladin Jr.” at 7 p.m. Monday and Tuesday at Trinity Fellowship Church, 4749 South Ave., Boardman. The production has many speaking parts and a large chorus. To demonstrate vocal ability, children should bring sheet music to the audition; an accompanist will be provided.

“Aladdin Jr.” will run the weekend of Oct. 20, with the possibility of a second weekend. For information, call Byers at 330-406-0606.
