GIRARD

Warrants are out for the arrest of a Youngstown couple after what police describe as an assault in which a man brandished a gun.

Curtis Matlock, 36, of Youngstown, faces kidnapping, felonious-assault and domestic-violence charges. His girlfriend, Latoya Bullock, 28, also of Youngstown, faces an assault charge, a court clerk said Wednesday.

Girard police responded to a Northgate Avenue home in Liberty about 10:15 p.m. Aug. 4. A 31-year-old woman told police the father of her children, Matlock, showed up at her home with his girlfriend, Bullock.

The 31-year-old woman stated Matlock punched her in the face and knocked her to the ground. The woman also said she had a physical altercation with Bullock after Bullock hit her, according to the police report.

Matlock pulled out a handgun and said, “Don’t move, or I’ll shoot you,” after the 31-year-old woman’s boyfriend attempted to break up a fight, the 38-year-old boyfriend told police.

Witnesses said Matlock continued to brandish the gun as he ordered his two children to get their things and go to his truck. The kids left the home with Matlock, according to the police report.

The warrants were issued out of Girard Municipal Court, where Matlock and Bullock will have a hearing upon their arrest.
