Women face charges after Girard fight

GIRARD — Two women face misdemeanor charges after an argument turned physical.

Amarae Kornegay, 20, of Youngstown is charged with assault, and Breona Kennedy, 21, of Girard, is charged with disorderly conduct. Both women will be arraigned Aug. 23 in Girard Municipal Court.

Police responded to fight outside Kennedy’s Church Hill Road home about 10:15 p.m. Sunday. A crowd of about 15 people had gathered to watch the fight and film it with their cellphones, according to a police report.

An officer physically separated the two women, who told police the fight involved punching and biting.
