BOARDMAN
A Warren man and woman were arraigned Tuesday in Mahoning County Area Court before Judge Joseph M. Houser on drug abuse and theft charges.
Township police initiated a traffic stop Monday for Ashley Buskirk, 29, and Cody Kale, 23, who both listed a Mahoning Avenue address, near the Old Navy store at Shops at Boardman Park.
According to a police report, they were suspects in a robbery at the store on Boardman-Poland Road.
Officers searched the suspects and their vehicle, reportedly finding $105.58 of stolen clothing from the store as well as two hypodermic needles and a burnt spoon with suspected heroin residue on it.
The couple also had an active theft warrant after they were accused of shoplifting from a Kohl’s store on Boardman-Poland Road in July.
Police charged them with theft, illegal drug use and possession of drug-abuse instruments.
No preliminary hearing has been set for the pair.
