THURSDAY
Bethel Lutheran Church, 425 Crestview Drive, Boardman, will host a dine-in or drive-through roasted chicken dinner from 2:30 to 7 p.m. Dinners will feature a half-chicken, choice of potato, vegetable, coleslaw, bread and butter. A children’s menu is available. Cost is $8 for adults and $3 for children. A family dinner option is available for $5 per person for a minimum of four people. Credit cards will be accepted.
Calvary United Methodist Church, 12062 South Ave. Ext., North Lima, will have its monthly drive-through stuffed chicken breast dinner from 3 to 6 p.m. or until sold out. The dinner includes mashed potatoes and gravy, green beans and a brownie for $7. Drive up to the door, and someone will take the dinners to your car. Call 330-549-2588 to reserve dinners. Leave your name, phone number, the number of dinners you want and approximate time you will arrive. A percentage of the profits is used for local mission projects.
VFW Col. Louis J. Campbell Post 3538, 157 Lowellville Road, Struthers, will serve spaghetti dinners from 4 to 7 p.m. Meals include meatballs, salad, bread and butter, and coffee. The cost is $7.50 for adults and $4 for children under 8. Carryout orders are $8 and will be available only until 6 p.m. Containers will be provided.
VFW Triangle Post 2799, 3161 E. South Range Road, New Springfield, will serve spaghetti dinners from 4 to 7 p.m. sponsored by the auxiliary. Prices are $7 for adults and $3.50 for children under 12. Meals include meatballs, salad, Italian bread and coffee or tea.
FRIDAY
Holy Trinity Serbian Orthodox Church, 53 Laird Ave., Youngstown, will serve fish dinners from 3:30 to 7 p.m. at the church hall. The menu will consist of baked or fried Icelandic cod or fried haddock; sides of Spanish rice, haluski, macaroni and cheese, french fries or string beans (choose two); coleslaw or applesauce; bread and butter; and coffee or tea. The cost is $11 for adults and $6 for children. Dessert will be an additional $1.75. Containers will be provided for takeouts. Orders will be accepted from 11 a.m. to 6 p.m. at 330-792-1005.
SATURDAY
Smith Corners United Methodist Church, 3000 S. Canfield-Niles Road, Austintown, will host a free pancake, sausage and egg breakfast from 9 to 11 a.m. Donations will be accepted, and proceeds will be used for World Service Projects.
St. Thomas the Apostle Catholic Community, 4453 Warren-Sharon Road, Vienna, will host its second Saturday supper from 4 to 6:30 p.m. Takeouts are available. The menu comprises ham and scalloped potatoes, vegetable, bread and butter, dessert and a beverage. Adults dinners cost $10, and children under 12 eat for $5.
SUNDAY
St. James Episcopal Church, 7640 Glenwood Ave., Boardman, is hosting a homemade cavatelli and meatball dinner from 11:30 a.m. to 5 p.m. The cost is $8, and there will be a basket auction. Takeout orders are available.
UPCOMING
Cy-Me Men’s Club of Our Lady of Sorrows Parish will sponsor its annual corn roast at 6 p.m. Aug. 20 in the social hall of Sts. Cyril and Methodius Church, 252 E. Wood St., Youngstown. Doors will open at 5:30 p.m.; there is elevator access via the entry on the ramp between the church and rectory. The meal will include all-you-can-eat fresh-picked corn on the cob, half of a baked chicken, tomato-cucumber salad, haluski, watermelon and cake. Cost is $12. Tickets will be sold after Sunday Masses at Holy Name of Jesus Church, 613 N. Lakeview Ave.; St. Matthias Church, 915 Cornell St.; or Sts. Cyril and Methodius. Tickets also are available by calling Tom Rovnak at 330-782-5287 or Bert Wagner at 330-747-3777. No tickets will be sold at the door. All are welcome.
