Mayor says Lowellville Police Chief Richard Jamrozik will resign

LOWELLVILLE

Mayor James Iudiciani, Sr. told The Vindicator he received a call from Lowellville Police Chief Richard Jamrozik this morning, in which Jamrozik said he would submit a letter of resignation.

The Mahoning County Domestic Relations Court today granted a five-year civil protection order against Jamrozik.

A woman filed documents with the court in July, claiming Jamrozik beat her and threatened to kill her.

The order, which extends through Aug. 10, 2021, prohibits Jamrozik from being within 500 feet of the woman and from possessing a gun.

Violation of the civil order constitutes a criminal offense.

"My client is very distraught," Attn.. Dave Betras, who is representing the woman, said. "She just wants to be left alone and this order ensures she will be left alone."

Attn. Gerald Ingram, who is representing Jamrozik, declined to comment.

Both Jamrozik and the woman appeared with their attorneys today before Magistrate Thomas Dawson. Jamrozik agreed to sign a consent agreement and waive his right to a full hearing.
