Salem man faces charges of domestic violence, assault after arrest in Liberty
LIBERTY — Township police filed a domestic-violence charge against a Salem man they accused of knocking his girlfriend unconscious and injuring her brother early Monday.
Charles Maurer, 43, also faces an assault charge.
Witnesses told police that during an argument outside a Euclid Avenue home, Maurer pushed the 39-year-old woman, causing her to fall to the ground. Her head fell on the pavement and she lost consciousness, police said.
According to the police report, Maurer also pushed the woman’s brother to the ground, causing him to suffer minor injuries to his knees, back and shoulders.
