Rocker’s grandchild born on freeway

Rocker Dee Snider’s granddaughter has wasted no time coming into the world: She was born in a vehicle on a Los Angeles-area freeway.
Jesse Snider posted an Instagram video from his car alongside his wife, Patty, on Sunday just after Parker Pryde Snider’s birth. He says, “We waited a little too long to leave.” Jesse Snider says the baby is healthy and already breast-feeding.
Dee Snider tweeted Sunday that Patty delivered Parker while Jesse drove, adding, “Way to get attention!”
Snider shot to fame in the 1980s as the wild-haired lead singer of metal band Twisted Sister. The group is best known for its hits “We’re Not Gonna Take It” and “I Wanna Rock.”
Final two concerts at Riverwalk Park
NEW CASTLE, PA.
New Visions for Lawrence County has announced the final two Friday night summer concerts in Riverwalk Park. RML Jazz will return Friday, and Voices will perform Aug. 26. Both concerts will be from 6-9 p.m. at the Riverwalk Amphitheater, on the corner of Washington and East Streets behind Cascade Center.
Lunch program on ‘Beauty of Glass’

The Mahoning Valley Historical Society’s next Bites and Bits of History lunch program will be Aug. 18 at noon at the Tyler History Center, 325 W. Federal St., downtown. Jessica Trickett, MVHS collections manager, will present “Form and Function: The Beauty of Glass.”
Vessels of glass have been used for everyday containers as well as beautiful works of art for at least 3,500 years. This presentation explores ancient and modern glass, glass-making techniques, and examples of glassware as works of art. It features practical tips for cleaning and maintaining pieces of glassware.
