Racino sees spike in July VLT revenue

Hollywood Gaming at Mahoning Valley Race Course reported slot-machine revenue of $8.78 million for July.

That’s up from $8.28 million reported in July 2015, according to the Ohio Lottery Commission.

In July 2015, the racino had an average of 866 slot machines or video lottery terminals, but in July this year, the racino averaged 980.

Penn National Gaming, which owns the Austintown racino, does not comment on its monthly slot-machine revenue.

The lottery commission’s July report released Monday also shows $91 million credits played with $81.2 million credits won – a 90.35 percent payout – which equated to a win per day of $289.

The state’s seven racinos reported combined slot-machine revenue of $80 million in July, which compares with $73 million in slot machine revenue reported in July 2015.

The state’s four casinos reported July revenue of $66 million, which compares with $69 million in revenue reported in July 2015.
