Boardman police arrest 2 on OVI charges
BOARDMAN — Township police made two impaired-driving arrests Monday morning.
Officers witnessed Andover resident Justin Kahn, 24, of Oak Street, driving recklessly on Market Street about 2 a.m. When the officer tried to pull him over, Kahn sped away. Police later found Kahn hiding by a house on Hilton Avenue in his car with the headlights turned off.
His blood-alcohol concentration reportedly registered at 0.152, nearly twice the legal state limit of 0.08. Kahn was also charged with fleeing and eluding police. He was also was charged with fleeing and eluding police in 2013.
Police stopped Youngstown resident, Glenn Patrick, 60, of Helena Avenue, after he ran a red light and nearly hit their police car on Meadowbrook Avenue about 4 a.m. When officers asked him the date, he replied midnight on Saturday. Police conducted a field-sobriety test, which he failed and his BAC registered at 0.177.
Both suspects were scheduled to appear in court in Mahoning County here today.
