Scrappers’ win streak snapped on road
wappingers falls, n.y.
The Mahoning Valley Scrappers saw their four game winning streak come to an end in the first game of a three series with the Hudson Valley Renegades on Saturday night at Dutchess Stadium. Despite a solo homerun and a 4-for-4 night from Todd Isaacs, the Scrappers fell 4-2.
In the first inning the Scrappers loaded the bases on an Isaacs single and walks by Mitch Longo and Emmanuel Tapia. Jorma Rodriguez delivered an RBI single to put the Scrappers up 1-0. However, the Scrappers would leave the bases loaded.
Trailing 3-1, The Scrappers would add their final run in the top of the fifth inning on Isaacs’ solo homerun to lead off the inning. The Renegades bullpen held the Scrappers to just two baserunners over the final five innings.
The Scrappers (22-25) and Renegades (27-20) continue their series on Sunday afternoon with first pitch set for 5:05.
