Austintown Senior Center, 100 Westchester Drive, has planned the following: Monday, active exercise at 8 a.m., 30 minutes with God and piloxing at 9, monthly membership meeting and Sew ’n Crafts at 9:30, shooting class, senior spinning (I), bingo, painting class and computer security class at 10, lunch at noon, paint and taste at 12:30 p.m., computer PayPal class at 1 and instructor’s choice at 1:15; Tuesday, active exercise at 8 a.m., video class on physics at 9, S.O.S. at 9:30, bingo and crocheting at 10, line dancing at 10:30, chair yoga at 11:30, lunch at noon, ballroom dancing at 12:30 p.m., coloring book class and AARP monthly meeting at 1 and car cruise at 6; Wednesday, active exercise at 8 a.m., 30 minutes with God, Drums Alive, video class on weather, blood pressure checks and trip to Grove City outlets at 9, bingo, senior spinning (E), quilting class and Edge Browser computer class at 10, $3 pizza party at noon, ukulele class at 12:30 p.m., emailing basics computer class at 1 and power pilates at 1:15; Thursday, active exercise at 8 a.m., video class on Civil War at 8:50, Vets Helping Vets and wood carving at 9, S.O.S. and digital camera class at 9:30, chair yoga and crochet/needlework class at 10, knitting and fencing at 11, lunch and grocery bingo at noon and coloring book class at 1 p.m.; and Friday, active exercise at 8 a.m., 30 minutes with God, video class on ancient daily life and senior spinning (S) at 9, senior spinning (E) at 9:30, bingo at 10 and out to lunch bunch to Margherita’s Grille at 1:30 p.m. For information call 330-953-1416 or visit www.austintownseniorcenter.webs.com.

Niles S.C.O.P.E. Senior Center, 14 E. State St., offers Zumba classes at 3 p.m. every Tuesday in August, taught by Will Mowell, certified Zumba instructor from White Oak Manor. The program is a medium-paced dance exercise for senior citizens. The fee is $1 per class.; a free Lunch and Learn program will take place from 11:45 a.m. to 1 p.m. Aug. 12 on “Eating Healthy,” with Garvin McCorkle, Ohio State Extension. The program is sponsored by Gateway Health. Registration is required by calling the center; David Raach, S.C.O.P.E.’s geriatric specialist will be available from 2 to 4 p.m. Aug. 23. Appointments are recommended but walk-ins also will be accommodated. Support also is available for newly widowed people who may need guidance with financial, medical, insurance needs and more. Utility assistance, medical assistance, exploitation, scams, food needs are just a few areas that are covered by this service; podiatry services are provided every nine weeks. The next clinic will be 9 a.m. to noon Aug. 26 by appointment only, with Dr. Thomas Pokabla. All participants must take their insurance card; regular copays will apply.
