Conference reset
WARREN
Visiting Judge Patricia A. Cosgrove reset Wednesday’s telephone conference with attorneys for Danny Lee Hill and the Trumbull County Prosecutor’s Office after just a few minutes on the phone.
Judge Cosgrove is handling Hill’s request for a new trial based on what Hill’s attorneys say is invalidated bite-mark evidence that was used in his 1985 aggravated murder, rape and assault trial.
Hill, 49, and an accomplice, Timothy Coombs, were convicted of causing fatal injuries to Raymond Fife, 12, as he rode his bicycle to a Boy Scout meeting.
Judge Cosgrove reset the matter for 2 p.m. Monday and has indicated she may decide that day whether she will have an oral hearing or decide the matter based on filings and not have a hearing.
