ASSOCIATIONS
Tri-Gold Prime Time Chapter of American Business Women’s Association will meet Wednesday at A La Cart Catering in Canfield. Presiding for the first meeting of the 2016-17 term will be Sarah Janutulo, president; Elena Nigro, vice president; Kay Myers, recording secretary; and Mary Ann David, treasurer. A social at 5:30 p.m. will precede dinner at 6. The menu consists of cheesy potatoes, egg, chicken or ham and cheese croissants, broccoli salad, fruit, cheesecake, tea and coffee. The cost is $15. Mahoning Valley Stamp Club will meet at 7 p.m. Thursday at Highway Tabernacle, 3000 S. Raccoon Road, Austintown. The club meets the second Thursday of each month.
PEO Ohio Chapter CE will have its regular meeting at noon Aug. 17 at A La Cart Catering, 429 Lisbon St., Canfield. Darlene Miller will present “Sicily, Off the Beaten Path.” Hostesses are Karen Matthews and Carol Richards.
Western Reserve Amateur Radio Club will meet for dinner and a meeting Aug. 16 at Davidson’s Restaurant, 3636 Canfield Road, Cornersburg. Dinner will be served at 6 p.m., and the meeting will follow at 7. John Myers will be the speaker, and Gabrielle Paine will report on the annual field day event. GROUPS
Transcendental Interest Group will have its regular meeting at 6:30 p.m. Wednesday at the Park Vista North Lounge, 1310 Fifth Ave., Youngstown. The group studies scientific secrets to a powerful memory and will evaluate the work of Peter M. Vishton and study his steps to improving memory. Youngstown Area Weavers Guild will meet at 9 a.m. Saturday at Firestone Park in Columbiana for its annual Spin-in. There will be demonstrations of spinning, weaving and fiber arts at the Columbiana annual craft and antique show. Take a spinning wheel, fleece, drop spindles, loom and any other fiber project that is portable. Lunch is available at the park.
