The Austintown library created its own indoor and outdoor carnival for children on July 13.
The carnival consisted of 11 different games and activities at the library. Each child got 15 tickets when they entered the room and used one or two tickets to participate in whatever game or activity they wanted.
Children could choose from games such as bowling, tossing a ball into a fishbowl, using a squirt gun to knock pingpong balls off a stand and many more. There was a snack table with various carnival snacks and refreshments for the children and their families to enjoy between games.
Librarians Ashley Potopovich and Nikki Puhalla collaborated to create an afternoon of fun for the children.
“Once they run out of all their tickets, they get a prize,” said Potopovich.
There was a table with press-on tattoos that was popular with many of the children. They picked out their favorite tattoo, most of which were types of circus animals, and put several of them all over their bodies.
The carnival was one of many programs the Austintown library hosts throughout the summer for children of all ages.
