Warren City Council’s finance committee will meet at 5 p.m. today in the council caucus room at the municipal justice building, 141 South St. SE.
During the meeting, there will be a discussion for a resolution directing the Trumbull County Board of Elections to place before voters in the Nov. 8 general election the question of whether an ordinance for an additional half-percent income tax to be levied on and after Jan. 1 should be approved.
Juveniles charged with break-in
AUSTINTOWN
Two juveniles face breaking-and-entering charges after their arrest for being inside Austintown Fitch High School playing Pokemon GO.
According to a police report, after alarms sounded signaling a break-in at the high school, 4560 Falcon Drive, shortly after midnight, officers found two minors, age 14 and 15, riding their bikes through the school, videotaping the excursion while playing the popular smartphone game.
Officers charged them with breaking and entering and a curfew violation and took them to the Martin P. Joyce Juvenile Justice Center.
The names were not released by the JJC or the Austintown Police Department at this time.
Burglary reported
BOARDMAN
Township police are investigating a burglary that was reported Tuesday evening.
The victim told police he returned to his apartment on Hillman Way, finding the front door kicked in and the residence ransacked.
Three flat-screen TVs, a MacBook and a PlayStation4 with four games were reported missing, worth $3,340.
Forum set for next Thursday
YOUNGSTOWN
An Action forum focusing on black infant mortality is from 8 to 10 a.m. next Thursday preceded by a continental breakfast at 7:30 a.m., at Our Lady of Mount Carmel Church, 343 Via Mount Carmel Ave.
The forum includes a presentation of short-term action plans developed by the dialogue groups composed of community residents who have dialogued on racism and black infant mortality and are moving toward action and change.
The dialogue groups have used materials from “Everyday Democracy” with Fran Frazier as their consultant. The forum, sponsored by the Mahoning Valley Association of Churches, Youngstown Health Department, Enabling Racism Reconciliation in Greater Youngstown, ACTION and the YWCA, is open to the public, and those attending will have an opportunity to join new dialogue groups.

Road closing
Bristol Champion Townline Road between Downs North Road and state Route 45 in Bristol and Champion townships will be closed from Monday through Aug. 26 for culvert repairs, says a news release from the Trumbull County Engineer’s Office. The recommended detour route is south on Oak Hill Drive, east on state Route 305 and north on North Park Avenue.
