A summary of recent criminal activity in Poland and Boardman townships:
POLAND
July 26
Incident: A Southwind Trail resident reported that while at a U.S. Route 224 fast-food restaurant, conditions of a protection order had been violated.
July 27
Harassment: A Navajo Place man said he’s been receiving such correspondence.
BOARDMAN
July 27
Arrest: A welfare check at a Market Street gas station led to the arrest of 21-year-old William Porter II of Weston Avenue, Youngstown, on an assault warrant. Porter also was charged with obstructing official business when, authorities said, he lied about his date of birth and age.
Arrests: A traffic stop on Market Street resulted in the arrests of Percy M. Phillips of Redwood Drive and Tamika M. Burrage of Lauderdale Avenue. Phillips and Burrage, both 24 and of Youngstown, were wanted on city warrants charging failure to appear in court.
Breaking and entering: Authorities charged three Youngstown boys, one age 15 and two age 16, with breaking and entering, resisting arrest and obstructing official business after someone had used a concrete block to break a window before entering Boost Mobile, 4230 Market St., and stealing cellphones and sets of headphones. Afterward, the teens split up and fled before being apprehended, a report showed.
Identity fraud: A Mill Creek Boulevard man discovered someone had used his personal information after having been arrested in Chicago on a felony charge.
Theft: Two men and two women reportedly stole $800 worth of merchandise, including DVD players, from Walmart, 1300 Doral Drive.
Breaking and entering: A Chester Drive man reported two people, likely in their teens, entered his garage, then removed about $5 worth of change and a $5 pair of ear buds from a vehicle inside.
Burglary: Took place in the 100 block of Erskine Avenue, probably with a key to a rear door. Nothing appeared to be missing, however, and police found no signs of forced entry.
Theft: Police charged 22-year-old Fred J. Nolasco after alleging Nolasco, of Tampa Avenue, Youngstown, had stolen a $20 wireless Bluetooth speaker from Walmart.
July 28
Aggravated menacing: A Sable Court man told officers a neighbor with whom he’s had ongoing problems threatened to shoot him in the head.
Burglary: To a residence in the 7900 block of South Avenue through a rear door. Nothing appeared to have been stolen, though the home was ransacked.
Theft: A Hermitage, Pa., woman reported her $600 iPhone stolen while at Southern Park Mall.
Theft: Three women reportedly took $186 worth of lingerie from Cirella’s, an intimate-apparel store at 64 Boardman-Poland Road.
Forgery: An official with Nationwide Industrial Supply, 8414 South Ave., discovered two company checks had been forged, including one that was cashed at a Ravenna bank.
Harassment: An Orlo Lane man alleged his estranged wife has made and sent multiple unwanted calls and text messages to him over a two-week period.
Theft: Jaivaun D. Dodge, 18, of Glenwood Avenue, Boardman, surrendered on a theft charge after two men’s T-shirts had been stolen two days earlier from Macy’s in Southern Park Mall.
July 29
Theft: Chantelle M. Croff of Pepperwood Drive, Niles, faced charges of theft as well as possession of criminal tools and drug paraphernalia after $148 worth of clothing was stolen from Kohl’s, 383 Boardman-Poland Road. Croff, 36, who had a suspected crack-cocaine pipe, also had used a pair of wire cutters to remove price tags and security sensors, a report said.
Theft/assault: Authorities charged 21-year-old Mykayla M. Bruton of Starlite Drive, Warren, with theft, assault on a police officer, resisting arrest, obstructing official business and drug abuse after 20 pieces of merchandise had been stolen from Walmart. While detained, Bruton refused to obey several commands to put down her cellphone, then struck and pushed an officer in the torso area, after which police had to use a stun gun to bring her into compliance, a report showed.
Arrest: Officers arrested 33-year-old Joseph P. Bees IV at his Indianola Road residence. The Boardman man was wanted on a Youngstown Municipal Court bench warrant charging failure to appear in court.
Theft: Alan K. Hinton Jr., 18, of Logan Way, Liberty Township, was charged in the theft of $66 worth of clothing from Kohl’s.
Theft: Hope L. Mogg, 39, of North Hartford Avenue, Youngstown, was charged with taking four pairs of shoes from Gabriel Bros., 850 Boardman-Poland Road.
Theft: A $120 car seat was taken from Goodwill Industries, 285 Boardman-Canfield Road.
Domestic violence: Police charged Brian K. Richendollar of Hitchcock Road, Boardman, with domestic violence, obstructing official business and criminal trespassing after his wife alleged her 44-year-old husband had struck her head, then dragged her by the hair into a hallway during an argument. Richendollar also refused officers’ commands several times to come out of a barn; in addition, his refusal to leave the residence was in violation of a protection order, a report stated.
Theft: Two designers with a Market Street furniture business reported money, a driver’s license, a checkbook and numerous debit cards stolen.
Theft by deception: A Youngstown woman suspected that $35,000 had been deposited into an account belonging to her uncle, of Boardman, via deceptive means.
Theft: Joseph F. Feret, 29, of Midwood Circle, Boardman, was taken into custody after having been pulled over near Market Street and Route 224. He was wanted on a felony warrant from Trumbull County.
Theft: Niles police handed 40-year-old Douglas D. Tolley to township authorities. Tolley, of Salt Springs Road, Mineral Ridge, was wanted on a theft charge related to a June 24 shoplifting situation in which $75 worth of clothing was stolen from Kohl’s.
July 30
Theft: A Youngstown man discovered his wallet missing while at a Boardman-Poland Road eatery.
Menacing: While assisting Youngstown police with a theft investigation, township authorities arrested 24-year-old Shimeah S. Davis of East Boston Avenue, Youngstown, on a menacing charge after an official with Denny’s Restaurant, 154 Boardman-Canfield Road, alleged Davis threatened to harm him when the accuser tried to stop several people who had left without paying their food bill.
Theft: Two women reportedly stole about $175 worth of clothing and groceries from Walmart.
July 31
Criminal damaging: A car in the 100 block of Shields Road was found with damage to its driver’s side, front fender and hood. Damage came to $1,000.
Assault: A worker for a South Avenue long-term care center alleged a patient had grabbed her elbow, leaving a small cut, and punched her chest during an argument about cigarettes.
Theft: A Liberty woman noticed her purse missing from her car while in the 400 block of Boardman-Poland Road.
Criminal damaging: Someone broke a 10-square-foot window to a business in the 700 block of Boardman-Canfield Road.
