Oregon parents welcome identical triplet girls in rare event

PORTLAND, Ore. (AP) — The trio of girls is so tiny they can fit, individually, in their father's hand – but these medical wonders in Oregon already have painted toenails.

The Oregonian/OregonLive reported today that's the only way their parents, Logan Brown-Fletcher and Amber Hills, can tell them apart.

The 19-year-old high school sweethearts and first-time parents from Newberg welcomed identical girl triplets Raelyn, Avery and Elaina on Monday.

The infants were delivered at 33 weeks by Cesarean section and are in the neonatal intensive care unit.

They could come home next month.

The triplets' neonatologist, Dr. Craig Novack, says the odds of such a birth are one in a million.

Hills was diagnosed with a basketball-sized ovarian cyst that had to be removed during her pregnancy.
