Job loss at Delphi

Job loss at Delphi

WARREN

The union representing the workers who remain at Delphi operations in the city say they’re fighting to save jobs. The 685 men and women who work at Delphi’s operations is a pale comparison to thousands of workers that once packed the plants for good-paying jobs.

But 21 WFMJ-TV, The Vindicator’s broadcast partner, said it is learning the number of workers could drop even more. In a recent letter to his membership posted on social media, IUE-CWA Union President Ed Salus detailed possible cuts at each plant.

Thirty-six positions are on the chopping block, primarily in production at Plant 10.

At Plant 11, Salus told members, “As of right now, they plan to lay off a total of 43 Local 717 members, with the breakdown being 23 production and 20 skilled trades.”
