Youngstown police find gun after foot chase on South Side

YOUNGSTOWN — Police found a gun after a foot chase this afternoon on the South Side.

Reports said an officer tried to pull over a car about 2:50 p.m. in the 100 block of East Avondale Avenue when the driver pulled into a driveway at a high rate of speed and smashed into a fence.

The driver ran away but was caught a short time later. He was taken to St. Elizabeth Youngstown Hospital for observation.
