Vacant East Side home, Cadillac destroyed by fire
YOUNGSTOWN — A vacant home and a Cadillac were destroyed early Tuesday morning by a fire on the East Side.
Crews were called to 1007 Berkley Ave. about 2:55 a.m. and by the time they arrived the home was already fully engulfed in flames. Firefighters had to deploy to protect adjoining homes and allow the home to burn to the ground.
Reports said there was also a car parked behind the home that was also destroyed by flames that was owned by a woman who recently died.
Damage is listed at $6,000. There were no injuries. The cause is listed as under investigation.
