Think your weekend was bad? Thief takes man's bird, roast and runs over his foot

YOUNGSTOWN — A Detroit Avenue man said someone he knows ran over his foot late Sunday afternoon after he tried to retrieve a bird that was taken from his home.

Police were called to the home about 5:10 p.m., where the man told them he returned home to find a woman he knows in a car outside his home. She had his pet Cockatoo inside a cage in her car.

The man reached into the car to grab the cage and the woman drove away, running over his foot in the process. Reports said the man’s shoes had scuff marks on them but he refused medical attention.

Inside, food was also taken, including a roast that the man had in an oven, reports said.
