Army Corps flood-risk management meeting is Aug. 16
LOWELLVILLE — The U.S. Army Corps of Engineers’ Pittsburgh District is having an interagency public information meeting regarding flood-risk management at 1:30 p.m. Aug. 16 in Lowellville High School, 52 Rocket Place.
The meeting, intended to increase flood-risk awareness, will feature presentations by federal, state and county agencies and regional organizations.
It will address the different agencies’ authorities, types of pre- and post-flood assistance and studies that may be requested, including descriptions of flood-risk reduction measures municipalities and homeowners may adopt to better protect themselves.
This meeting will provide insight regarding agency programs potentially available to even the smallest municipalities and individual property owners, according to a corps news release.
