HUBBARD
Springfield (12-7) jumped out to a 9-1 lead and held off a Hubbard comeback. Brannon Brungard had four RBIs while Andy Sodergren had a double and three RBIs in the win. Nathan Sommers and Brandon Walters also had two hits each for the Tigers. Brett Lopuchovsky and Colin Shinosky each had three hits while Kent Kroynovich had two RBIs for the Eagles (13-6).
Poland 9, Canton South 2
POLAND
Pad O’Shaughnessy had three hits, two RBIs and a double for Poland. Anthony Calcagni notched two hits and two RBIs while Braeden O’Shaughnessy had two hits and a double. Matt Baker earned the win in relief, allowing no hits and striking out four in three innings.
SOFTBALL
Ursuline 3, Jackson-Milton 2
YOUNGSTOWN
Jordyn Kenneally picked up the win, striking out 12 Bluejays and walking one. McKenzie Shells hit a sacrifice fly in the seventh inning to bring home the winning run. Shells also tripled in a run. Nikki Malkovits doubled for Ursuline (12-3). Sierra Pierce had two hits for Jackson-Milton, including a home run and two RBIs.
Boardman 9, Barberton 0
BOARDMAN
Hayley Eicher, Lauren Gabriele and Olivia Russell each had two hits, one of which was a home run for Russell. Sydeny Aey and Ashley Corneluis combined to strike out 11 Barberton batters and allow only three hits. For the Magic, Kayla Rorrer doubled.
Hubbard 13, Struthers 3
STRUTHERS
Hubbard scored 11 runs in the first three innings in downing Struthers. Annie Zagorec led the Eagles with four hits and five RBIs. Ruth Sandberg had two hits and two RBIs, and Sydney Newell doubled and had two RBIs. Addy Jarvis went five innings on the mound for the Eagles, striking out eight. Julia Niefer doubled and had one RBI for Struthers.
