WARREN
Eleven Warren police officers have been called to testify in a trial for William L. Fambro, 44, of Fourth Street Southwest, charged with aggravated murder in the death of Teresa Hunter, 35, in the Riverview Motel on Parkman Road on Oct. 14, 2015.
The trial is to begin Monday in Trumbull County Common Pleas Court.
Fambro also is charged with aggravated robbery and being a felon in possession of a firearm. If convicted of murder, he could get a life prison sentence.
Hunter’s address was on Hamilton Street Southwest.
Fambro has indicated to police that he has limited vision, but he has been convicted of several crimes in the past.
In February 2013, police found his girlfriend on the floor crying and saying Fambro had attacked her and her 14-year-old son, according a police report.
She said he knocked her down on the floor and choked her, then choked her son.
“Mr. Fambro told them he didn’t care anymore and would come back and kill them,” the report said.
In September 2008, the same woman reported that Fambro had grabbed her by the ponytail and dragged her out of the house and onto the ground and beat her.
He then threw a barbecue grill at her. A daughter of the victim said her mother had lost consciousness during that attack.
The woman failed to appear for court on the 2013 domestic-violence charge against Fambro, and the charge was dismissed.
He was convicted of domestic violence in the 2008 case and was sentenced to 30 days in the Trumbull County Jail.
The victim in those incidents is expected to testify for the prosecution in the upcoming trial.
