Early morning fire causes $5,000 in damage

YOUNGSTOWN — A fire early this morning at a 619 Mistletoe Ave. home caused $5,000 damage, fire reports said.

Crews were called to the home about 1:35 a.m. and found a fire on the side of the home. Reports said there was a strong smell of gasoline and several windows were broken in the home. Although it was vacant, the homeowner said he had just renovated it and someone was looking to rent it.

The cause is under investigation. There were no injuries.
