A summary of recent criminal activity in Poland and Boardman townships:

POLAND

April 19

Identity fraud: A North Lima Road woman learned that her credit-card account and personal information had been compromised.

April 20

Identity fraud: A Dobbins Road woman found out someone without authorization had used her name and Social Security number to access her cellphone account and request a change to a Philadelphia address.

April 22

Animal complaint: Police received a complaint of a dog barking excessively in the 7800 block of Struthers Road.

BOARDMAN

April 19

Criminal mischief: Someone tossed eggs at a residence in the 7900 block of Spartan Drive.

Theft: An Austintown girl, 15, and a Boardman girl, 16, were accused of stealing about $176 worth of clothing and undergarments from Victoria Secret’s Pink store in Southern Park Mall.

Drugs: Michael W. Sheridan, 21, of East Huntington Drive, Boardman, surrendered on two misdemeanor drug charges after an April 16 incident in which police had answered a call about an unresponsive person at a Jennette Drive home. Found there were two hypodermic needles and two spoons, all with suspected heroin residue, a report showed.

April 20

Assault: Two women each reported having been assaulted by the other while at a business in the 6900 block of Market Street.

Theft: An East Liverpool boy, 13, and a 16-year-old Newell, W.Va., boy were accused in the theft of $300 worth of property, including a basketball shirt, from Macy’s in Southern Park Mall.

Attempted theft: An employee with Loan Max, 210 Boardman-Canfield Road, reported two men tried to obtain an $800 title loan that was under another person’s name.

Theft: A man and a woman reportedly stole two Xbox controllers from Walmart, 1300 Doral Drive.

Burglary: To a residence in the 4200 block of Hopkins Road, from which a $300 bow and case were removed from the garage.

Aggravated menacing: A Country Club Avenue man alleged a neighbor had threatened to kill him during a dispute regarding three rocks near their property line.

Theft: Police phone booked 23-year-old Taylor A. Moore of Clifton Drive, Boardman, on a theft charge after an employee with Akron Children’s Hospital, 6505 Market St., had reported a cellphone stolen last December while at work.

April 21

Arrest: Stephen J. Bott of Woodland Run Court, Canfield, was pulled over on U.S. Route 224 and charged with operating a vehicle impaired. Bott, 20, also was cited after police alleged he had a suspected marijuana pipe.

Breaking and entering: Numerous cellphones were stolen from AT&T in Southern Park Mall after someone had apparently pried open a cabinet. The loss was estimated at $20,952.

Theft: Christopher C. Byrd, 25, and Kelly A. Morris, 40, both of 10th Street, Wellsville, were charged in the theft of $389 worth of items, including a USB cable, from Walmart.

Menacing/child endangerment: While dealing with a neighbor dispute in the 100 block of Terrace Drive, authorities charged 39-year-old Rana M. Smith of Terrace, Boardman, with menacing by stalking after a couple alleged Smith was continually harassing them and had fired several small projectiles, cracking their truck’s windshield. Around the same time, Smith was charged with obstructing official business and child endangering when, police alleged, she refused several times to come out of her residence as they tried to serve her with a warrant and, in so doing, placed her children in danger.

Theft: Julie M. Toth, 41, of Northlawn Avenue, Boardman, surrendered on a theft charge. She was accused of stealing roughly $165 worth of merchandise, including two pairs of yoga pants, March 25 from Kohl’s, 383 Boardman-Poland Road.

Arrest: Police responded to a two-car crash near Sheban Drive and Shields Road, where they charged 62-year-old Nancy A. Wloch of Truesdale Road, Boardman, with operating a vehicle impaired. Wloch’s blood-alcohol count was 0.153, nearly double Ohio’s 0.08 legal intoxication limit, a report said.

Theft: Three women reportedly left Springfield Grille, 7413 Tiffany Blvd., without paying their $36 food bill.

Animal cruelty: A Terrace Drive man told police his dog had been injured while in his front yard.

Assault: A worker with a South Avenue long-term care center alleged an irate resident tried to strike her face with a cane, hitting her right elbow as she tried to protect herself. The victim had swelling in the affected area.

Theft: A Youngstown man noticed his $600 iPhone missing while at Southern Park Mall.

Criminal damaging: Someone in the 300 block of Boardman-Poland Road used a key to damage the finish on a vehicle’s rear door. Damage was estimated at $500.

Misuse of a credit card: Authorities phone booked Lynn E. Como, 40, of Renee Drive, Struthers, on a felony charge of misuse of a credit card after a Struthers man discovered someone without permission had used his credit card to buy a total of about $700 worth of items at several township locations.

Theft: Youngstown police relinquished custody of 49-year-old Daron N. Little to township authorities. Little, of Madison Street, Campbell, was accused of stealing a $60 pair of shorts March 29 from the JCPenney store in Southern Park Mall.

Theft: Kimberly E. Chupa, 45, of Main Street, Mineral Ridge, was phone booked on one felony-theft count and a misdemeanor charge of misuse of a credit card. Beforehand, a Boardman woman noticed her purse had been stolen while shopping at a Boardman-Canfield Road store, and that her credit card was used without authorization at several locations to buy merchandise.

April 22

Drugs: Gary T. Bowers Jr., 53, of Santa Monica Circle, Liberty, was charged with possession of dangerous drugs after officers had conducted a vehicle-registration check on Market Street. Bowers, who also was wanted on a contempt-of-court charge, had a tool bag containing 16 yellow pills, police alleged.

Arrest: Youngstown police handed to township authorities 42-year-old Joseph D. Ezzo of Guadalupe Avenue, Youngstown, who was charged with violating a protection order related to an April 18 incident in which his brother-in-law, of Boardman, alleged Ezzo had posted his address and phone number on a social-media website.

Breaking and entering: Someone shattered a side-door window, then entered Dick Adgate Florist, 4527 Market St., though it appeared nothing was taken.

Theft: Two women and a man in their 20s reportedly stole $430 worth of clothing from Victoria Secret’s Pink store.

Attempted theft: A woman in her 20s reportedly tried to take $137 worth of merchandise from CVS Pharmacy, 7230 Market St., then tried to leave.

April 23

Arrest: A traffic stop near Interstate 680 led to the arrest of 23-year-old Kyle W. Rogers, who faced a charge of operating a vehicle impaired. Rogers, of Meadowbrook Avenue, Youngstown, had a blood-alcohol count of 0.184, a report stated.

Breaking and entering: Someone forced open a rear basement window, broke into a residence in the 4900 block of Hopkins Road and took an undetermined amount of copper piping. Police also responded to a similar break-in at a home in the 5100 block.

Harassment: A woman told officers her former boyfriend has driven past her Argyle Avenue residence in his pickup truck and deliberately revved the engine in an effort to harass her.

Menacing: An Afton Avenue man said a woman made several such calls and has continually driven past his home over a three-week period.

Theft: Julie A. Crenshaw, 27, of Riverview Street, Warren, and 40-year-old Rebecca L. Robinson of High Street, Warren, were charged with stealing seven bottles of perfume valued at $444 from Victoria Secret’s Pink.

Theft: Someone entered a car in the 4000 block of Glenwood and removed a $200 pair of prescription sunglasses and $6.

Identity fraud: A Tara Drive man reported someone without permission had used his identity to open a checking account in Hollywood, Fla., after a collection agency advised the victim that he owed $175.

Theft: A township woman noticed her $550 iPhone missing while in the 30 block of Crestline Avenue.

Assault: A doctor at a Boardman-Canfield Road medical office alleged a patient struck his arm during an exam.

Theft: A man in his 40s reportedly stole a $60 home-office printer from Walmart.

April 24

Arrest: While performing a welfare check in the 800 block of Cook Avenue, officers arrested 43-year-old Steven V. Campana of Cook, Boardman, on a Trumbull County probation-violation charge.

Theft/criminal damaging: Someone in the 6000 block of Glenridge Road damaged a vehicle’s glove compartment, then took a small sum of change from that and another car.

Counterfeit: A township man told police he received what he believed were six phony $100 bills after having sold an iPhone for $660.

Harassment: A Waseka Lane man said a family member had sent him about 15 unwanted text messages.

Theft: Twelve landscaping lights were removed from a home in the 5600 block of Southern Boulevard. The theft came to $720.

Arrest: Authorities charged 36-year-old Benjamin Wienand of Woodrow Avenue, Boardman, with violating a protection order after saying Wienand was at the residence of a woman who had taken out such an order against him.

Theft: A Youngstown girl, 16, was accused of stealing about $5 worth of merchandise from Walmart.

Arrest: Police responded to a report of a car in the middle of U.S. Route 224 and South Avenue, where they took into custody Demetrius M. Jackson of Mistletoe Avenue, Youngstown, on a charge of operating a vehicle impaired. The 20-year-old Jackson’s blood-alcohol count was 0.145, a report showed.

Domestic violence: Stacy Teski, 34, of Cook Avenue, Boardman, was charged with the crime after her boyfriend alleged Teski had scratched him in numerous places, causing the accuser to suffer a bloody lip, in what appeared to be an unprovoked attack.
