More than $100 million will be wagered on this weekend’s Kentucky Derby, and personal-finance website WalletHub has unearthed some interesting numbers that give insight into the event, now in its 142nd year:

v 127,000: The number of mint juleps, containing 1,000 pounds of fresh mint, to be served throughout Kentucky Derby weekend.

v 90 percent: Percentage of female spectators who will wear a hat.

v $300,000: The 2016 fee for the world’s most valuable stud, Tapit.

v $194.3 million: The total dollar amount wagered on the 2015 Kentucky Derby, the most in history, with $154.3 million ultimately being paid on winning tickets.

v $200,000: The estimated value of the Kentucky Derby trophy, which includes an 18-karat gold horse and rider, 350 rubies and 12 emeralds.

“The Americans” (10 p.m., FX): “The Americans” continues its highly compelling run with an episode that has both the KGB and FBI racing to track down the same very vital agent. Meanwhile, we’re still mad at the show for killing off you-know-who.

Fiala, orchestra concert at church

YOUNGSTOWN

Sunday’s Sauce and Song concert at 1:30 p.m, Sunday in St. Patrick Church, 1420 Oak Hill Ave., will feature cellist Father Vit Fiala and members of the Dana Chamber Orchestra playing several classical selections. The one-hour concert is free to the public, although free-will offerings will be welcomed.

Dog owners event at Boardman Park

BOARDMAN

Boardman Park and Animal Charity will present Star Paws Mutt Mingle on May 4 from 5 to 7 p.m. at the park’s Masters Outdoor Pavilion. The event will include pet vendors, nonprofit dog rescues, a veterinarian who will answer questions, and more. Those who dress their dog as a Star Wars character will have a chance to win a prize.

Proceeds from the event will benefit Animal Charity and Marge Hartman’s Paws Town dog park at Boardman Park.

Paws Town will be open to the public from 8 a.m. to 8 p.m. for free May 4. Memberships will be offered with a $5 discount on a yearly membership.

Oldies dance at The Confluence

NEW CASTLE, PA.

A dance featuring the band Soul Attraction will take place at 8 p.m. Saturday at The Confluence, 214 E. Washington St. Admission is $5.

The evening wil include music from the Motown era through the ’70s, and beer and wine will be sold.

Vic Rangel started Soul Attraction in late 1980s. He is joined by Billy Soul and Larry Fitzhugh.

Benefit rides on new coaster

Cedar Point amusement park’s new roller coaster Valravn will debut to the general public May 7, but guests can ride it first May 5, from 6 to 10 p.m., in a benefit event for the LeBron James Family Foundation.
