TODAY

Boar’s Head Group of St. John’s Episcopal Church, 323 Wick Ave., Youngstown, will serve chicken dinners from 11:30 a.m. to 1 p.m. at the church. The meal includes mashed potatoes and gravy, green beans, salad, bread and butter, pie and a beverage. The cost is $8. No reservations are necessary. Holy Family Parish, 2729 Center Road, Poland, will sell takeout cavatelli dinners with homemade sauce from 2:30 to 6 p.m., or until sold out. Meals also include two meatballs, tossed salad, bread and butter and dessert for $9. A smaller portion of cavatelli and one meatball will cost $5. Pasta fagioli will be sold for $6 a quart and pasta sauce for $5 a quart. Place your order, remain in your car, and your dinner will be delivered to you.

THURSDAY

VFW Col. Louis J. Campbell Post 3538, 157 Lowellville Road, Struthers, will serve spaghetti dinners from 4 to 7 p.m. Meals include meatballs, salad, bread and butter, and coffee. The cost is $7 for adults and $3 for children under 8. Carryout orders are $7.50 and will be available only until 6 p.m. Containers will be provided.

FRIDAY

Christ the Good Shepherd at St. Joseph the Provider Church, 633 Porter Ave., Campbell, will sell potato, prune and kraut pirogi. The cost is $6 a dozen. Frozen pirogi will be sold while supplies last. Phone orders may be made from 9 to 11 a.m. Thursday and beginning at 8 a.m. Friday at 330-755-1316. Orders can be picked up starting at noon.

Christ Our Savior Parish at Holy Trinity Church, 250 Bridge St., Struthers, will sell potato, cabbage and lekvar pirogi. The cost is $5.50 a dozen. There is a limit of three dozen cabbage pirogi while supplies last. Orders will be taken from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. Thursday and from 8 to 10 a.m. Friday at 330-755-0064. No walk-in orders will be accepted. Pickup will be from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. Friday. Containers will be provided.

Holy Trinity Ukrainian Catholic Church Hall, 526 W. Rayen Ave., will take orders each week for freshly made potato and potato with kraut pirogi for $6 per dozen. No containers are necessary. Orders should be placed from 9:30 to 11 a.m. Thursday and from 10:30 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. Friday at 330-746-9528 and are to be picked up between 11 a.m. and 1 p.m. Friday. Hot lunches will be served from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m.

St. Anne Ukrainian Catholic Church, 4310 Kirk Road, Austintown, will sell potato and cheese pirogi. To order, call 330-799-0084 from 8:30 a.m. to noon Thursday and from 7 a.m. to 2 p.m. Friday. Pickup will be from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. Friday. Cost is $6.50 per dozen (no containers necessary). Walk-ins welcome. Use the side entrance.

St. Paul the Apostle Church, 10143 Main St., New Middletown, will sell potato, sweet cabbage and cottage cheese pirogi for $5.50 a dozen. Orders can be called to 330-542-3525 from 7 to 11 a.m. Thursday and Friday. Pickup will be from 11 a.m. to 4 p.m. Friday. Walk-ins are welcome. Last sale of the season is May 13.

St. Stanislaus Church, 430 Williamson Ave., Youngstown, sells potato, kraut and cottage cheese pirogi on Fridays. Advance orders will be taken at 330-747-3024 from 8 a.m. to noon Thursday and Friday. Pickup will be from 8:30 a.m. to 1 p.m. The cost is $6.50 per dozen. Pirogi lunches will be served from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. Walk-in orders are welcome.

SATURDAY

Braceville United Methodist Church, off state Route 82 in the center of Braceville, will serve a stuffed pork chop dinner from 4 to 6:30 p.m. or until sold out. The menu includes mashed potatoes, corn, coleslaw, applesauce, homemade desserts, bread and coffee, tea or punch. The cost is $10 for adults and $4 for children. Takeouts will be available.

Mount Moriah Lutheran Church, 4626 S. Pricetown Road, Berlin Center, will host a spaghetti dinner from 4 to 7 p.m. The dinner includes salad, rolls and butter, gelatin salad, cookies and beverages. The cost is $10 for adults, $5 for children 3 to 12 and free for those 2 and under. Walk-ins and takeouts are available. For reservations call 330-547-3737 or 330-547-9500.

North Lima Mennonite Church, 90 Mennonite Drive, North Lima, will sponsor a breakfast buffet from 7 to 10 a.m. For a donation, the all-you-can-eat breakfast will include eggs, pancakes, French toast, sausage, potatoes, homemade pastries, sausage gravy and biscuits, peppers and mushrooms, coffee, orange juice and other beverages. SUNDAY

American Legion Southington Post Home, 3145 Warren-Burton Road, will host an all-you-can-eat pancake breakfast from 8:30 a.m. to 1 p.m. Cost is $7 for adults, $4 for childen under 12 and free for those under 4. The menu includes sausage or biscuits and gravy.

TAKING ORDERS

Lydia Circle of Girard First United Methodist Church, 22 N. Market St., is taking orders for individual size ham loaves for $2.50 each. Call the church office to order at 330-545-4361. Orders will be taken through Tuesday. Pickup will be from noon to 3 p.m. May 9.

Our Lady of Mount Carmel Church, 381 Robbins Ave., Niles, will sell pizza from 11 a.m. to 4 p.m. May 6 in the educational building. All products are made with homemade dough. Brier Hill pizza will be $6; potato, spinach and combo calzones are $10 each; hot calzones and spinach with raisins also will be available to order. Campbell Knights of Columbus, Council 13466, will host a pancake breakfast from 8:30 a.m. to 1:30 p.m. May 15 at St. Joseph the Provider Church, 633 Porter Ave., Campbell, to benefit the activities of the Knights Council. Breakfast will include eggs, sausage and potatoes, coffee or juice. There will be a 50-50 raffle, a basket auction and a lottery tree raffle. St. James the Apostle Church, 4019 Route 422, Pulaski, Pa., will host a breakfast brunch Mother’s Day buffet from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. May 8. The menu consists of French toast, sweet cheese filling, buttermilk and buckwheat pancakes, fruit and maple syrups, scrambled eggs, eggs with peppers, onions and cheese, home fries, bacon, ham, sausage, toast, cinnamon rolls, hot and cold cereals, coffee, tea, juices and milk. The cost is $8 for adults and $4 for children.

St. Nicholas Byzantine Catholic Church will present a Mother’s Day buffet from 11 a.m. to 4 p.m. May 8 at The Byzantine Center at the Grove, 3801 Shady Run Road, Youngstown. The buffet will feature ethnic and traditional favorites including homemade wedding soup, stuffed cabbage, pork with apples, stuffed chicken breasts, haluski, cavatelli with meatballs, Italian-style vegetables, tossed salad with mixed greens, pie dessert table, fresh fruit display and a chocolate fountain. The buffet includes soft drinks, iced tea, lemonade or hot coffee and tea. Beer and wine will be available. The price, which includes tax and gratuity, for adults is $25 per person, children age 6 to 10 are $10 per person and children 5 and younger are free. Major credit cards are accepted.
