Cortland man indicted in fatal jogger crash

WARREN — Russell G. Lauer III, 43, of state Route 5 in Cortland has been indicted on aggravated vehicular homicide, failure to stop after an accident, drunken driving and failure to drive in marked lanes in a crash that killed a jogger Feb. 27.

Lauer has been in the Trumbull County jail since the incident. If he is convicted, he could get about 10 years in prison.

The accident, on Ridge Road in Fowler Township, killed Brittany Szwedko, 27, of Cortland.
