A John F. Kennedy Catholic High School project will be accomplished through a $100,000 donation from the Cafaro Foundation.
Two years ago, the high school began replacing its windows. The total cost of the renovation was pegged at $225,000. At that time, the Cafaro Foundation provided $25,000 to begin the installation of custom-built, double-hung vinyl windows with UV tinting to keep the building cooler in warm weather.
Since the project launch, the school has raised $125,000 from other sources.
The latest donation from the Cafaro Foundation will allow the school to meet its goal and finish the job.
“This project will help us keep pace, not only with newly constructed and renovated public schools in our area, but to grow along with our enrollment, course offerings, mission work and continued student success,” said Joseph Kenneally, JFK president.
The Cafaro Foundation is a charitable entity established by the Cafaro family in memory of William M. Cafaro, the founder of the real-estate development and management company. For more than a half-century, Cafaro, along with his wife, Alyce, and brother, John A. Cafaro, supported churches, schools, hospitals and other charitable causes.
Since its 1996 inception, the Cafaro Foundation has awarded millions of dollars in grants to organizations and individuals.
