John Dellick released

YOUNGSTOWN

The son of Judge Theresa Dellick of Mahoning County Juvenile Court will be released from the county jail to the Neil Kennedy Recovery Clinic this morning.

Visiting Judge Michael Nunner of common pleas court ordered John Dellick to reside in the clinic under electronically monitored house arrest, with release privileges to attend classes at Eastern Gateway Community College.

The visiting judge released the 21-year-old Dellick after a Monday probation-violation probable-cause hearing.

Dellick had been placed on probation after a 2014 aggravated-assault conviction.

The Ohio Adult Parole Authority booked the younger Dellick into jail Thursday after he was cited April 20 by Mill Creek Park police for marijuana possession and littering.

“You are the only individual who can meet those responsibilities,” Judge Nunner told Dellick concerning his responsibilities for compliance with the terms of his release.

Multiple charges

WARREN

Gabriel Talanca, 21, of East Avenue found out that riding a bicycle while possessing drugs won’t throw police off his trail, especially if he’s riding the wrong way.

Talanca was eastbound on Summit Street Northwest near Tod Avenue at 3:45 p.m. Sunday, but was facing traffic, causing drivers to swerve to avoid hitting him, police said. An officer made a traffic stop and advised Talanca that riding the wrong way was a violation. Talanca was asked to put down his backpack, but he resisted, and the officer used his stun gun on Talanca twice to make it possible to arrest him.

The officer found three large jars in the backpack, as well as pills, a marijuana grinder, rolling papers and $244.

Talanca pleaded not guilty Monday afternoon in Warren Municipal Court on one felony, aggravated drug trafficking; misdemeanor charges of riding a bicycle on the wrong side of the roadway, resisting arrest; drug abuse and possessing drug paraphernalia.

I-80 lane restrictions

MERCER, Pa.

The lane restrictions are expected to be lifted at 3 p.m. Friday, said officials with the Pennsylvania Department of Transportation.
