JCC lifeguard classes in May, June

The Jewish Community Center, 505 Gypsy Lane, is offering American Red Cross lifeguard classes in May and June.

Participants will earn American Red Cross lifeguard certification by completing the program.

The classes also include professional cardiopulmonary resuscitation/AED and first-aid training and certification, also necessary for individuals seeking employment as a lifeguard.

Those who take the course must demonstrate advanced swimming abilities.

Two classes will be offered: May 24 to June 4 and June 7 to 18, from 4 to 8 p.m. weekdays, and 8 a.m. to noon Saturdays.

Cost is $235 for the class that covers the cost for a pocket mask, manual and two-year lifeguard, CPR/ AED training certificate.

Participants must attend all classes. A minimum of four people is required. Register at jccyoungstown.org/lifeguard.
